Delyn Security Services CC T/A Watchdog Security Services was established in November 1993 by Deon and Lynette Ferreira. Today more than 20years later, we are a fully managed family business. Each family member runs their own section, Deon's duties include: Sales & Marketing, Customer Care, and is in charge of Armed Response and the CIT Division. The admin of the business is controlled by Lynette, Deon's wife. Jacques (son) is our Operations Manager and is responsible for all technical and operation aspects.

DEON
Deon has fifteen years of experience as a criminal investigation officer with the South African Police Service. Is a Security Training instructor and is a dynamic person that has mastered the skills of his trade. With his management and extraordinary people skills, Deon has built a business that is looked at with envy by opposition security firms in the region.

He has applied the highest standards of proficiency and does not hesitate to involve himself personally with crime situations. Says Deon: "I have seen the standards of the Police Service drop to such levels that I sometimes feel ashamed to say that I was once part of them. In my time there was strict discipline amongst the members of the police units and you respected your officers and fellow members unconditionally. I apply the "old" standards in my business and discipline staff accordingly. In this manner I ensure that I only employ staff that are of an extraordinary good calibre and are a pleasure to work with".

Deon has undergone extensive training, both with training facilities accredited by the Security Officer's Board as well as technical training in connection with security systems. He is an expert at installing alarm systems for home and business use and maintains a radio communication network for his own use as well as for the benefit of the local farming community. Deon is a training officer accredited by the Security Officer's Board and not only undertakes the training of his own staff, but also from time to time, holds training classes for other security firm staff.

Deon has attended various NOSA (National Occupational Safety Association) courses and is also qualified to act as a NOSA training officer.

LYNETTE
The administration of the business is controlled by Lynette, Deon's wife. She has a knowledge of administration, having been employed in the Public sector in senior positions for many years.

Her strengths are personnel administration and management, accounting and financial management. Says Lynette:" Studies overwhelmingly identify bad management as the leading cause of business failure. Bad management translates to poor planning by management. All too often, the owner is so caught up in the day-to-day tasks of getting the job done and struggling to collect receivables and to meet the payroll if he or she does not plan.

There never seems to be time to prepare Forecast of Budgets. Often new managers understand the service industry they're in, but not the financial statements or the bookkeeping records, which they feel are for the benefit of the SA Revenue Service or the bank. Our success has been ensured only by focussing on all factors affecting our business's performance. Focussing on planning is essential to survival. Our accounting records and Financial Management system enables us to run our business on a sound and profitable financial basis."

JACQUES
Jaques is our Operations Manager and is responsible for all Technical and operation aspects of the business, Jacques has a N6 Diploma in Electric Engineering having studied at Port Elizabeth Technical College.

He has extensive experience in the Security field having worked for ADT, Chubb, Atlas Security and OCS (a large Security Firm in the UK). Jacques, the son of Deon & Lynette started showing an interest in the business early on and worked with Deon on alarms from the age of 12 yrs.

He is being groomed to take over the business in the future. He has a team of three Technicians which serve our 1000 customers in Fort Beaufort, Alice and Hogsback.
